6. Your Account
Viewing Your Profile
Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner of the Dashboard header and select Profile to open your Profile page. Here you'll see your name, email address, and avatar. Click Back to Dashboard to return to the main screen.
Editing Your Name
On the Profile page, find the Personal Information card. Update your First Name and/or Last Name and click Save Changes. The save button only becomes active once you've made a change.
Date of Birth
On the Profile page, find the Date of Birth card. This shows your current account type (Child, Teen, or Adult) and your date of birth using Month, Day, and Year dropdowns.
You can update your date of birth at any time. Changing it will recalculate your account type:
- Under 13 — Child (requires parental consent via a Family team)
- 13 to 17 — Teen
- 18 and older — Adult (can create and own teams)
Note: Changing your date of birth may affect your access to certain features. For example, changing to an under-13 date of birth will require parental consent before you can continue using the app.
Changing Your Email
On the Profile page, find the Change Email card. Your current email is displayed at the top for reference. Enter your new email address and your current password to confirm the change (use the eye icon to show or hide the password field), then click Change Email.
The new email must be a valid format and can't be the same as your current one. Your password is required to authorize the change.
Changing Your Password
On the Profile page, find the Change Password card. Enter your current password, then your new password (minimum 8 characters), and confirm it by entering the new password a second time. Click Change Password to save. Each password field has a show/hide toggle (eye icon) for convenience.
Signing Out
You can sign out from the avatar dropdown menu in the Dashboard header (click your avatar, then Sign Out), or from the Account card at the bottom of your Profile page.
Light and Dark Mode
QuizTime supports both light and dark themes. Use the sun/moon icon in the header to toggle between them at any time. Your preference is saved across sessions. The app uses a purple color scheme and is fully responsive — layouts adapt for phones, tablets, and desktops.
Managing Your Teams
Click the Your Teams tab on the Dashboard or select Teams from the avatar dropdown menu to see all teams you belong to. Each team card shows the team name, type (Family or Classroom), member count, and your role (Owner or Member).
Click any team card to open its detail page where you can:
- View all members with their names, account types, and roles
- Invite Members — Generate a shareable invite code (owners only)
- Edit Name — Rename the team (owners only)
- Remove Members — Remove a member from the team (owners only)
- Delete Team — Permanently delete the team (owners only)
